A single-herb liquid extract of dried fruits of Ziziphus jujuba, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

The jujube is a small thorny tree of dry country from the Balkans east to China, with glossy three-veined leaves and inconspicuous yellow-green flowers. Its fruit passes through two quite different stages: picked early it is crisp, pale green-brown and tastes like a slightly sweet apple; left on the tree it darkens to mahogany red, wrinkles, and becomes chewy and date-like, which is the form that is dried and the reason it is called the Chinese date. It has been cultivated in China for four thousand years.

Tincture: Ziziphus jujuba dried fruits, organic sugar-cane alcohol, distilled water, vegetable glycerin USP.
Glycerite: Ziziphus jujuba dried fruits, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Jujube may lower blood sugar and may add to the effect of sedatives and of some antidepressants. Not for use in pregnancy.
